Background

In spring 1940, deported Poles were sent to Soloneshnoe as forced settlers. Those who died there were buried in individual graves in the village graveyard. Today these graves are located between the later burials of local villagers and it is impossible to distinguish them: for the most part their headboards have not survived. Information about the Poles buried in the graveyard is on record at the district civil registry office.
