The camp at the Kheta tin mine of the Sevvostlag (Dalstroi) southwest mining department was in operation during the 1940s. The prisoners burial ground was investigated in the early 2000s by Debin businessman V.A. Naiman. In 2004, Naiman erected a memorial cross there.
The Memorial database “Victims of Political Terror in the USSR” lists 1,883 individuals who served time in Sevvostlag. It names 349 who died in captivity and 20 who were shot there.
