In 1918-1919, one place where hostages sentenced by the Revolutionary Tribunal were shot and buried was the Kazanskoe cemetery in Velikie Luki. The dead were buried in common graves on the southwest side of the graveyard. Since the early 1990s, requiem masses for the victims of the “Red Terror” are periodically conducted there.
We shall not forget: A Book in Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression (15 vols. 1996-2004) contains biographical entries on 28,000 who were shot or sent to the Gulag. The Memorial online database (2021) contains the names of 69 who were shot in the Pskov Region in 1918-1919.
