Mostovka village came into existence in 1930 as a place for dekulakized peasant families, forcibly resettled from various regions of Ukraine, Belorussia and Central Russia as part of the collectivisation of agriculture.
A working village graveyard is today located where the forced settlers were buried. The area of earlier burials has partially been lost; individual graves, now cared for by relatives, have survived from the 1930s.
The Memorial online database (2025) names 38,697 victims in the Sverdlovsk Region.
It lists 13,162 deported to the Region from all over the USSR: 6,276 were “dekulakised” or born in special settlements; 589 were later deported by reason of their “nationality”.
